Here at PV, we’re not big fans of jet-skis in Phuket. They are perpetually annoying and go some way to spoiling the vibe at some of our favorite Phuket beaches. It’s distressing every time we read about jet-ski mishaps in Phuket, but they seem to happen all too often.
Most of time what happens is that a tourist damages a jet-ski and then has to deal with an irate jet-ski operator demanding a vast sum of money. The latest incident happened at Nai Harn, a Phuket beach where jet-skis aren’t allowed to operate.
Phuket Wan has the story, although there aren’t many details available at present. It looks as if a foreign tourist hired a jet-ski at Kata Beach and rode it to Nai Harn, where the accident occurred.
The tourist suffered a laceration to her arm. Jet-skis at Phuket’s beaches are noisy and a nuisance. They cost a fortune to hire from scandalous operators and there are far too many of them.
We can’t be the only ones who think so.
