If you spend any amount of time in Phuket City, you’ll know that when it comes to pizza, most restaurants are happy to bake some dough and throw ketchup and mayonnaise on it. P Pizza is rare in that it’s run by Thais who have a decent pizza oven and actually know how to use it.
While not being the best pizzas in Phuket, P Pizza comes close, especially when you factor in the price. For about 100 baht, you can have a good-sized pizza with your own choice of toppings.
The place is open-air and next to a main road, so it’s best used if you fancy grabbing a quick bite to eat and drinking a few beers. Most expats in the area make at least one weekly visit to P Pizza. Check it out if you’re in Phuket City and get the munchies. The chicken wings are good, too.

Fine Day in Phuket City is where the local kids go to hang out, drink and, most importantly, eat. It’s an open-air Phuket restaurant that has the feel of a beer garden and seves up some delicious Thai food.
Most tourists don’t seem to find their way to Fine Day, so you can be assured of something of an authentic dining experience while at this Phuket City restaurant. The only problem is that the menus are all in Thai, so if you don’t have any Thai people in your group and you don’t read Thai, you’ll have to ask for some assistance from the staff, who are always willing to help.
Fine Day is also recommended as a place to drink in Phuket City. The beer is cheap and you can eat and drink all night without spending a fortune. Regular Thai dishes like tom yum goong and som tum are recommended at this restaurant.

Very local and very cool. Tucked out of the way in Phuket Town just off Yaowarat Road, this Phuket restaurant is all about Thai food. The open-air setting has made it a firm favorite with locals. Increasing numbers of tourists and expats seem be finding their way to Lullaby the longer it stays open.
As well as random Western dishes, such as club sandwiches or chicken nuggets, there is a standard variety of Thai dishes to choose, including friend rice, salads and soups.
Lullaby is one of the hippest restaurants in Phuket Town because it doesn’t try and be anything other than what it is: a place to eat, drink and enjoy time with friends. It’s only open in the evenings, so get down before the sun sets, grab a table and enjoy the food. Lullaby restaurant isn’t really known as being a place to drink until the early hours.
For teachers and travelers, Steak Samkong seems to be a popular restaurant in Phuket Town. It’s definitely not worth making the effort to travel to Steak Samong for the sole purpose of eating there, but if you’re in the area on Yaowarat Road, they do a good wiener snitzel, although, ironically, the steaks are below par.
For cheap and cheerful food, you could do much better, but there are worse restaurants in Phuket Town. The pasta dishes aren’t great, but the salads are all right.
Steak Samkong does cheap fish and chips if you’re in the mood for some Western junk food. The fried chicken is worth avoiding, though. The pizzas could be a heck of a lot better, but there are a few special dishes on the menu that are palatable.
A great restaurant in Phuket Town serving nothing but Thai food. This large open-air restaurant is a popular one with the locals. If you want to sample some Thai food while you’re in Phuket Town, this restaurant has a great selection, with everything from spicy soups to local salads.
The atmosphere isn’t particularly exciting, but for dinner and drinks, this is one restaurant in Phuket Town that’s worth a visit.
It’s only open in the evenings, but comes recommended as one of the better restaurants of its kind in Phuket Town. Lemongrass restaurant is a little more expensive than eating street food, but you’ll certainly get a meal worth remembering.
The best Indian food in Phuket Town, for sure. If you’re looking for a decent restaurant in Phuket Town, Kanasutra is as good a place as any to start. The place is rather quiet most of the time, but don’t let that fool you, because the food is great, albeit a little pricey
Owner Billy Chima is usually on hand to relay stories about the island and help out with general queries. The restaurant staff are attentive enough and a meal at Kanasutra is a smooth process. This restaurant in Phuket features a standard range of Indian dishes and the portions are generous.
There aren’t many Indian restaurants in Phuket, especially outside of Patong, so Kanasutra has become something of a local favorite. Seems more popular with tourists and travelers than anyone, likely because of its location. Don’t let that put you off, though.
Most people eat at least one Italian restaurant in Phuket during their stay on the island. Salvatore’s in Phuket Town is a decent place to eat, although the restaurant does feel like a bit of a cliché. If you can get past the tried and tested Italian-restaurant décor, there is a range of great pasta dishes to sample.
Salvatore is a decent chap who is proud of the fact that he uses only fresh ingredients in all his dishes. While perhaps not the most exciting place to eat out in Phuket Town, Salvatore does a good job and he doesn’t use any frozen food.
Next door to the Italian restaurant is Salvatore’s own pizzeria, where you can watch your meal being cooked over a wood fire before tucking in. Not a bad place to eat in Phuket Town. The wine menu is a little predictable.
There are countless Italian restaurants in Phuket. If you ask around about where to find the best Italian food in Phuket, most people will point you in the direction of La Gaetana. This small Italian restaurant in the heart of Phuket City is lovingly run by the husband-and-wife team of Gianni Ferrara and Chonticha Buasukhon.
Long-time residents with a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, they go the extra mile to make your meal at La Gaetana special. The food is fantastic, with a wide range of pastas, meat dishes, fish and salads.
Being an Italian, Gianni has ensured that La Gaetana has an in-depth wine menu with a greta selection from around the world. La Gaetana isn’t the cheapest restaurant in Phuket City, but the food is divine. Bookings are recommended as, being a small and popular restaurant, the seats usually fill up pretty quickly.

Definitely one of the top restaurants for Thai food in Phuket Town. Natural Restaurant is a strange, yet wonderful, restaurant. The whole restaurant feels like it’s been built out of a treehouse, with random ornaments and decoations, like fish living inside old TVs. It’s all very kitsch and certainly unique for Phuket, but it’s the food that makes this place stand out.
Natural Restaurant has everything, from sashimi and sushi to killer Thai curries and a whole lot of fish dishes. The oysters are definitely among the finest in Phuket. Natural Restaurant is well known among locals and travelers on the tourist trail, so it can be a little busy, but the food makes it definitely worth a visit, if only to see the weird and wacky decorations and the occasional frog crawling around the floor on its way between flower pots.
